Some years ago, Mr. Bush decided it was time someone created a grooming salon truly designed for men. While various “men’s” shops were opening in various parts of the country, none of them offered what he envisioned: a place where the 21st Century Man could go to get grooming services beyond a mere haircut—such as skin care services, manicures, pedicures, hair coloring, waxing, and more—in an atmosphere geared for men. Traditionally, these services have only been available to men in establishments designed to be comfortable for women. Mr. Bush vowed to create a place where men could obtain grooming services to get the same anti-aging benefits and skin care that until only recent years were sought primarily by women. Mr. Bush’s goal was to create a place where “men could be pampered, too.” That place is Foxy Avenue Clips, where the establishments are called “Dens,” not salons.

As word of this concept spread, men everywhere told him they wish there was such a place they could go and be comfortable getting all of these services while not feeling like they were in a “woman’s salon.” Since the opening of Foxy’s Den #1 in California, men all across the country have been asking “When are you putting a Foxy near where I live?”

Never one to have small goals, Mr. Bush envisions a day when men all over the country will be getting their haircuts and all grooming services in the comfort and style of
Foxy Avenue Clips. To this end, he gathered a team of people who share his passion for Foxy’s future, and together they are actively pursuing interested parties to assist in obtaining the goal of making Foxy a national chain.

“Women have always had salons where they could go and be pampered while addressing their beauty needs and getting services designed to prolong the youthful appearance of their hair and skin. Today’s man wants to look good and preserve the health and appearance of his hair, skin and nails, too. And just as important, today’s man wants to be pampered in his grooming needs every bit as women do.
Foxy Avenue Clips offers this long-overdue concept.”

Susan has been involved in the beauty industry for several years.  She first started in this field as an Aesthetician, working her way into a successful private business as a single Mom raising a family of three boys.  Susan was a “natural” in the skin-care business, taking great pride in her work and her client’s needs in maintaining the healthiest skin possible, to combat the abuses one’s skin and health is subjected to in today’s harsh environment and stress.

Expanding her knowledge, Susan ventured into work with a manufacturer where she soon became an educator for them on product and equipment certification training.  Susan traveled extensively with the network of trade shows, marketing and selling products while maintaining her own personal skin care business in Southern California.  Susan recognized the rapidly growing need in the marketplace for a full-service grooming establishment where men could get their grooming needs fulfilled in an environment more suitable to them than the ordinary salons, and in her quest, she relocated to the Corporate Offices of Foxy Avenue Clips, centered in the heart of California’s wine country, Sonoma, California.  With this goal in mind, Susan helped establish one of the country’s most unmatched and untouchable men’s grooming businesses, which we call Dens!

Today, Susan works with the other members of the Foxy Avenue Clips team.  Together, they are dedicated to the goal of creating and providing the country’s Premiere Total Grooming Experience for the 21st Century Man, where men can visit our Dens from coast to coast.

At just 25 years old, Jami, a real people person, has worked in customer service for over ten years. She recognizes that mastering the intricacies of customer service truly is an art.

Although men’s grooming is a new experience for Jami, she recognizes the growing trend of younger men taking not only more pride in their appearance, but also being more and more concerned with their overall grooming and health. Jami sees the real potential in a Total Men’s Grooming business and gladly switched careers last year to be part of the
Foxy family. “It has been so fun and exciting to learn about all the different areas of grooming, from cutting to waxing to skincare and even the benefits from oxygen infusion,” Jami says of her new career pursuit. And when asked about her poor showing of antioxidant level when she was first scanned with the rest of the team, Jami said, “I am the youngest here, and yet I had the lowest antioxidant level of all. But I am a walking testimony that Pharmanex’ LifePak and G3 drink work, because my antioxidant level rose 100% in just sixty days.”

Jami says she is really enjoying learning, growing and helping create an amazing, one of a kind company that will offer all of the grooming services that the 21st century man wants and needs, and she feels confident that
Foxy Avenue Clips will rapidly become the nation’s Premiere Men’s Grooming dens.

Beverly Purpus (“Bev” to all who know her) found her way to Foxy Avenue Clips as a second career. For twenty five years she ran her own business in the arts and crafts industry. She produced and sold her product to gift stores throughout the country. She has also managed her own rental properties since 1978.

In 2006, Bev retired from the wholesale business, but soon realized that full retirement was just not for her, and after just one year she decided to pursue an exciting, new career. The idea of a total men’s grooming shop was presented to her, and she realized that men are now, more than ever before, concerned about total grooming; their skin, their nails, and their hair. After much consideration, Bev decided that providing the right kind of atmosphere in which the 21st Century Man could get his total grooming needs met was an exciting new business that she wanted to be part of.

Her observation rings true: “Women have been pampered, catered to and provided for in the salon business, and men have been seriously neglected.” What started out to be little more than a barbershop has grown into
Foxy Avenue Clips, “The Total Grooming Experience for the 21st Century Man.” Years in the making, and after consideration of countless ideas and interviewing men about what they would like to have available to them, Foxy Avenue Clips was born. Bev tells us, “Whether we have one Den, or five hundred, we will always be a work in progress, bringing the finest of products to a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere, with services performed by our competent stylists to provide our clients with the Total Grooming Experience for the 21st Century Man.”
